The Magic City Park was where I saw the more modern and family-friendly side of Tashkent. After so many historic monuments, madrassas, mausoleums and mosques throughout the trip through Uzbekistan, it was quite a contrast to arrive at an urban theme park full of lights. It's not a historic attraction, but precisely for that reason I found it interesting to include: it shows a different part of the capital.
It combines themed areas, gardens, lakes and decorative buildings, being one of the most modern outings in Tashkent. Let me tell you what I thought.

Go at night: it makes all the difference
I went at night and I think that's the best time, by far. The lighting makes the park much more beautiful and lively, and the light effects are the main draw of the place. By day it loses a lot of its charm. If you're going to fit the Magic City into your itinerary, leave it for the end of the day.
How long to spend
Set aside 1 to 2 hours. You can walk through the themed areas, enjoy the lighting and take in the park's atmosphere at a relaxed pace.
What to expect from the visit
I'll be honest: the Magic City is a different, fun experience, good for the contrast with the historic side of the trip, but I wouldn't put it above places like the Tashkent metro, the Chorsu Bazaar or the Hazrati Imam Complex. It's worth it if you have time and want to see the more modern and light-hearted part of the capital, especially at night.
