Magic City Park showed me Tashkent's modern, family-oriented side. After visiting historic monuments, madrassas, mausoleums and mosques across Uzbekistan, arriving at a brightly lit urban theme park created a strong contrast. Although it is not a historic attraction, it reveals a different aspect of the capital.
The park combines themed areas, gardens, lakes and decorative buildings, creating one of Tashkent's most modern leisure spaces.

Go at night: it makes all the difference
I visited at night, which I found to be the best time. The lighting and visual effects are central to the experience and make the park feel livelier than it does during the day. If you include Magic City in your itinerary, leave it until the evening.
How long to spend
Set aside 1 to 2 hours. You can walk through the themed areas, enjoy the lighting and take in the park's atmosphere at a relaxed pace.
What to expect from the visit
Magic City offers an enjoyable contrast to the historical side of an Uzbekistan itinerary, but I would not prioritise it over the Tashkent metro, Chorsu Bazaar or the Hazrati Imam Complex. Include it if you have time and want to experience the capital's more modern, light-hearted side, particularly after dark.
